Dr. Hillar Addo is Ghanaian by birth but has educated, worked and lived in the Southern Africa region for the last 13 years. A teacher by Profession, Hillar has a PhD in information Science from the University of Pretoria

Dr. Addo is currently the Southern Africa Programme Officer for Computer Aid International - A British Charity that aims at bridging the digital divide by providing Quality Refurbished Computers for use in educational institutions, the NGO sector and other not for profit organisations

Hillar believes that Africa needs an Information Technology system that is cost effective; human capavcity development oriented and can be adapted to meet the unique requirements of the continent in the information age
