I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (19997) from University of Ilorin, Nigeria. After my youth service in 1999, I set up an IT company, MICROLAB, In Ibadan. I started using GNU/Linux as a server OS in 2002 and since then we have been switching most of our client to it. My main area of interest is in Network Security and cheap wireless Internet Access using FOSS. Together with some friends this year, we started a non-profit arm called OPEN-IT! It is dedicated to promoting the use of FOSS as a Desktop and Server OS. Through OPEN-IT! we have trained over 20 people in the use of FOSS especially as an Internet Gateway. We have also held free seminars and given out over 40 copies of Ubuntu Linux and countless Knoppix CDs to students of the University of Ibadan and the Polytechnic. Our latest consignment of 60 copies Ubuntu Linux has just arrived. We intend to use it to start up Linux Users Club (LUC) in some selected secondary schools in Ibadan.
I am a member of Nigerian Linux Users Group (NGLUG), African Linux Users Group (AFLUG), Free and Open Source Software Federation in Africa (FOSSFA), and Associate Member of Free Software Foundation (FSF).
