Obiageli Izuako-Nwuba, Nigeria
Obiageli Izuako-Nwuba is the communication and Information Officer for BAOBAB for Women’s Human Rights. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and literature. Her Interest in Gender Equality was formed and nurtured from a background of a mother who has been a human rights activist and lawyer. She was exposed to human rights literature and events from her teen ages. During her undergraduate years, she worked as an intern with Gender and Development Action (GADA), a women’s rights group. It was therefore natural upon graduation to seek work in areas related to development especially with women’s rights.
Obiageli joined BAOBAB in September 2002 during her service to the nation under the NYSC scheme. As the communication /Information Officer, she is responsible for information dissemination, response to alerts, collating and editing of materials for BAOBAB’s newsletter, networking within the region and internationally among other things. In the course of her work she had gained useful skills and experience in website maintenance, facilitating trainings and information exchange workshops, writing, presenting papers and communication technology generally.
Obiageli loves movies, inspirational music, dancing, magazines and getting together with friends.
