Welcome to the AFRICA SOURCE 2 Wiki

You've found the wiki for Africa Source 2 that took place in Uganda, Africa from 8 to 15 of January 2006. This wiki was used to plan and dynamically record the agenda and event proceedings. It also contains a lot of feedback from participants, reports of the event, blog entries and more.

If you are new to wikis, there is a start with this page containing information and links. Check it out and let us know of questions.

Notes on the programme

Notes from the morning sessions (includes all other sessions as well)

Agenda (latest timetable always here): The agenda for Africa Source II is being developed by the organizers and participants. Please see the Agenda Overview for a summary of what will be covered at the event.

Structurally, the agenda was divided into three dimensions:

Morning Tracks covered three main learning areas for participants. Each participant selected a track and followed that learning path for each day of the event

Afternoon Sessions offered elective and inter-disciplinary workshops on a range of topics. Participants were free to explore different sessions each afternoon.

Special Events, such as The Bazaar, Skillshare Sessions and Evening Program sought to entertain, inform and amaze, allowing participants to interact in fresh and exciting ways.

Kool kamper...

Say a good word about a camper whose contribution to Africa Source you appreciate.

  • Goodwill, thanks for your guitar, and your music.
  • Simos, what we would have done without your wiki skills... and patience!
  • Manaal, the belly-dancing kept all fit
  • Gunner, right on
  • Marek, your face muscles do say something

Infotrack by the beach

[A poem by the info track. Copylefted for sharing by all. Sung to a Rap beat. Contact Goodwill for details ;-)]

Today in the info track
We learned about a whole wack
Of Alaa's success in Egypt by the sea
The blogs, and SMS that held the key

To bringing the world's attention
And forcing the world's media to make mention
Of democracy and civil rights
Alaa's campaigning got attention to their plight.

Later, we heard about wikis from Arun
For intranet's research until about noon

The girls won "Simon says" that day
And Bcky stretched us out like balls of clay
Finally we heard from Simos about graphics

Even though there was no internet traffic
What a great day at the beach
We're really starting to find our niche.
